Acquired Brain Injury Program

Our physical and occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists and certified recreation therapy specialists work closely with the team caring for patients with acquired brain injuries.

An acquired brain injury (an injury that is not present before birth) can dramatically affect the development of speech, language, thinking, movement and social skills in very young children. Older children and teenagers with acquired brain injuries may lose many of the same skills, but unlike younger children, they may be aware of the loss of these abilities.

Our physical and occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists and certified recreation therapy specialists work closely with the team caring for patients with acquired brain injuries. They strive to help children transition back to as normal a lifestyle as possible.
