Clinical Trial Description

UVA Health System, Department of Medicine, Hematology Oncology seeks Men and women ages 18 years and older with head and neck cancer for research study.

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effects of an experimental drug called IMC-A12 by itself or with cetuximab in people with head and neck cancer that has spread to other parts of the body and to understand how long the drug stays in the body. This study involves: taking an experimental medicine, physical exams, blood draws, and a pregnancy test for females who are able to become pregnant. This study requires visits every two weeks and each visit lasts 1-3 hours. 

Study-related drug, IMC-A12 and cetuximab, and administration of these drugs, blood tests at the screening visit and the pregnancy test are provided free of charge. 

Participant's insurance company will be billed for all other medication, tests and procedures.
