Clinical Trial Description
UVa Health System, Department of Neurology Memory
Disorders Clinic seeks Women and Men ages 50 years and older with a
diagnosis of Probable Alzheimer's Disease for research study.
The purpose of the study is to assess whether an experimental drug
called Dimebon is safe, well tolerated and effective for use in
subjects in Alzheimers disease compared to a placebo (a drug with no
active ingredient).
Study involves taking an experimental medicine/placebo, blood
draws, MRIs of the head, ECGs, physicals, and memory testing. There are
10 visits over 52 weeks, each visit lasting approximately 1-4 hours.
Study-related provided free of charge.
Compensation:
