Clinical Trial Description
UVA Health System, Department of Pediatric Respiratory Medicine seeks participants ages 12 and above with physician diagnosed Asthma for a research study.
The purpose of this study is to find out if chemicals found in soybeans called soy isoflavones improve lung function and reduce asthma symptoms in patients with poorly controlled asthma. You must have poorly controlled asthma to participate in this study.
This study involves 9 study visits over a 7 month period. You will receive either study drug (investigational soy tablets) or matching placebo. Tests to monitor your asthma status will be performed at each visit. Your asthma control and asthma symptoms will be followed throughout the study.
Study-related exams and medications will be provided free of charge.
