Transitional Care Hospital

The UVA Transitional Care Hospital (TCH) specializes in treating individuals with serious medical conditions that require a longer length of stay (25-28 days on average) than is standard at a typical acute care hospital. Find out more about the services and staff of the TCH.

From North (Ruckersville): 
Travel Route 29 South into Charlottesville. Exit onto the Route 250 West bypass (Staunton). Travel to the third exit, Route 250 West. At the traffic light, turn left onto Route 250 West and drive for 1.5 miles; we will be on your right. Once you turn into the parking lot, the Transitional Care Hospital will be on your left.



From South: 
Travel Route 29 North to Charlottesville. Pass under the I-64 junction, continue for 1.5 miles and take the exit for Route 250 West. Turn left onto Route 250 West and drive for 1.5 miles; we will be on the right.


From East (Charlottesville): 
Travel I-64 to Exit 118B. Continue for 1.5 miles and take the exit for Route 250 West. Turn left onto Route 250 West and drive for 1.5 miles. Once you turn into the parking lot, the Transitional Care Hospital will be on your left.

From West (Ivy/Waynesboro): 
Travel I-64 to Exit 118B (Charlottesville, Culpeper). Continue for 1.5 miles and take the exit for Route 250 West. Turn left onto Route 250 West and drive for 1.5 miles. Once you turn into the parking lot, the Transitional Care Hospital will be on your left.

Location Information

We're located on Ivy Road, just west of the Boar's Head Inn on the opposite side of the road. Northridge Medical Park has free, convenient parking.
