Biography:

Dr. Brenin was born in Athens, Greece, and moved with her family to Montreal, Canada, at the age of 4.  She grew up in Montreal, and went to college at McGill University.  She subsequently moved to United States and went to Medical School at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY.  She completed both her residency and fellowship training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL.  Dr. Brenin started her career in a private Hematology/Oncology practice in White Plains, NY, in 1998, where she stayed for 4 years.  She moved to Virginia in 2002, where both she and her husband joined the University of Virginia.

Dr. Brenin specializes in the treatment of breast cancer and colorectal cancer.   Her practice focuses on maintaining quality of life throughout treatment, addressing bone health and vasomotor symptoms.  In 2005, Dr. Brenin assumed the role of medical director of the infusion center, and in 2008, she became the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program Director.  Her long term goal as Program Director is to “enhance research opportunities for fellows by promoting participation in clinical and basic science research.”
