Allergy, Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Atopic Dermatitis, Beef Allergy, Conjunctivitis, Cough, Drug Allergy, Food Allergy, Hives, Insect Allergy, Peanut Allergy, Pet Allergy

Research Interest:

Anaphylaxis or urticaria that occurs 3-6 hours after eating red meat. This new mammalian meat allergy seems to be caused by tick or chigger bites and is due to IgE antibodies to the carbohydrate alpha-gal

Background

Biography:

A Virginian by birth, I spent much of my childhood farther South but am glad to be back in the Commonwealth. I enjoy spending time with my bride and two young children. Interests for me include most things outdoors (hiking, fishing), travel, woodworking and watching college sports.
