Background
Dr. Wells joined UVa in 2012 after completing his residency at the University of Michigan, where he served as Chief Resident from 2010-2011, and fellowship training in Abdominal and Cardiovascular Imaging at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is originally from Huntington, WV, the proud home of the Thundering Herd of Marshall University. Prior to completing medical school at Marshall University, Shane completed undergraduate degrees in both Nursing ('97) and Biology ('02). Specific areas of research interests include development of novel MRI methods for quantification of perfusion in liver tumors, evaluation of ablation changes and local tumor progression following thermal ablation, and minimally invasive tumor ablation.
