Hospital Education Program
At UVA, we want to help our young patients stay on track and thrive in school, even when their illness or injuries cause long-term absences.
Where Children Learn and Play
Children who are hospitalized for an extended time, or who attend frequent rehabilitation appointments, are at risk for falling behind in school.
At UVA, we want to help our young patients stay on track and thrive in school, even when their illness or injuries cause long-term absences. Our staff includes full-time, certified educators, employed by the state of Virginia, who work closely with children to help them succeed in school.
Our Other Services Include:
- Television Programming: Our closed-circuit television programming just for kids includes 12 hours a day of shows focusing on health education, children’s literature and entertainment. Kids in the hospital also get the chance to star in one of our four weekly live broadcasts.
