At UVA, we offer a team-based approach to care and advanced treatments dedicated to maximizing quality of life. Our team — which includes surgeons, medical oncologists, pathologists, nurses, social workers, nutritionists and more — works to care for patients, to achieve higher cure rates and longer survival and to chart the course for treatment.

Besides treating a patient's medical needs, our team also assesses and treats various problems — like changes in memory, speech, personality or emotions resulting from the tumor or treatment. We also help patients with related difficulties like re-entering the job force, school issues, disability, health-insurance concerns and psychological issues.
