Urological conditions, such as incontinence, infertility problems and interstitial cystitis, affect millions of men, women and children in the United States, according to the American Urological Association Foundation. While some urological conditions cannot be prevented, taking steps to develop a healthier lifestyle may help you lower your risk for certain diseases.
Our urologists will educate you about the urological diseases and disorders that affect your life and will offer the highest level of care to manage these conditions.

Prostate Cancer Screening
At UVA, we are committed to early detection and treatment of prostate cancer. Each year, our urologists partner with specialists in the department of Pathology to offer free prostate cancer screening tests to men between the ages of 50 and 70. Men over 40 who have a family history of the disease, as well as African American men (two high-risk groups), also are invited to participate free of charge.
