Michelle D. Hereford, RN, MSHA, FACHE, Chief, UVA Transitional Care Hospital
Hereford joined the UVA Health System in 2010. As chief of the Transitional Care Hospital, she oversees the long term acute care (LTAC) facility’s operations. She has over 20 years of healthcare experience serving in a broad range of roles.
The responsibilities of the chief include:
- Clinical operations
- Quality assurance and risk management
- Care management
- Finance and business development
- Human resources
Hereford holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. As a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), she demonstrates a commitment to professional excellence.
