UVA School of Nursing seeks adults, ages 18 years or older, who provide in-home care to their loved ones with chronic illness for a research study. The purpose of the study is to find out how caregiving stress affects sleep and cardiovascular health.
You may be eligible for this study if:
• you have a primary responsibility of caring for an adult loved one diagnosed with chronic illness (for example, cancer, heart/lung/liver/kidney disease, dementia, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, etc.)
• you are not a professional/paid caregiver
Study involves one study visit lasting approximately 90 minutes. At the study visit, participants will be asked to complete questionnaires and get cardiovascular health markers measured by non-invasive devices. When leaving the study site, participants will wear a wrist-worn device to measure sleep for 7 days and an ambulatory monitoring device to measure blood pressure for a day.
Study-related test provided free of charge.
$60 at study completion
