The department of psychiatry and neurobehavioral sciences, division child and family psychiatry is seeking children ages 6-17 with Tourette’s Disorder for a research study. The purpose of the study is to collect additional information about the long-term maintenance, tolerability, and safety of the study drug.
You may be eligible for this study if your child is 6-17 years old, has been diagnosed with Tourette’s disorder of at least moderate severity that causes impairment to regular activities, and does NOT have other disorders that may impact the study (Huntington’s disease, traumatic brain injury, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, etc.).
Study involves blood draws, EKGs, physical exams, psychiatric assessments, and taking the study drug/placebo daily. There will be approximately 17 visits to the study center over 8-10 months.
The study drug and all study-related medical tests and procedures are provided at no cost to qualified participants.
$75.00 per completed study visit for reimbursement of travel related expenses.
