Effect of GLP-1 on microvascular insulin responses in type I diabetes
Study Description

UVA Health System, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology is conducting a clinical research study. We want to learn more about how hormones that control blood sugar affect blood vessels in skeletal and cardiac muscle of adults with Type 1 Diabetes. You may be eligible if you have Type 1 Diabetes but otherwise healthy, are 18-40 years of age and have been on insulin for at least 1 year.

Participation involves: Total of 5 outpatient visits:
- 2 outpatient visits (lasting about 1 to 2 hours).
- 3 Outpatient visits (lasting about 8 hours each, and spaced 2-4 weeks apart).
All visits are during the week, and require blood draws. The study will take approx. 2-3 months to complete.

Study-related exams and blood labs are provided free of charge.

Compensation

$750 paid upon completion of the study
