The Department of Psychology seeks adults with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) for a research study. The purpose of the study is to determine whether mindfulness intervention techniques have an impact on physical, psychological and biological symptoms related with lupus.
The study involves 4 individual visits and 3 group intervention sessions at our clinic over a 12 week period. Three of the individual visits will be for an fMRI and blood draw. The 3 group sessions will include yoga, meditation and mindfulness based stress and pain reduction. Two additional sessions will be completed at home on your own with the help of a manual and pre-recorded audios or videos. Each visit will last approximately 2 hours.
Additionally, we are asking that you bring a support person who will also be a part of the trial.
• All study-related tests and exams are provided free of charge.
• Compensation for study completion is up to $1,250 for the participant and $500 for the support person.
