Study Description
The Center for Research in Reproduction seeks healthy and overweight girls ages 8 – 17 for a research study. The purpose of the study is to determine whether a urine test can predict testosterone (a male hormone) levels in the blood. This could eventually be used to predict which girls are at risk of developing polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
This study involves a single visit to the Clinical Research Unit at UVA, during which body fat, blood, and urine tests will be performed.
Study-related exams and tests are provided free of charge. For more information please contact pcos@viriginia.edu
