The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology is conducting a clinical research study. You may be eligible if you have Type 1 Diabetes but otherwise healthy, are 18-50 years of age and have been on insulin for at least 5 years.
Participation involves two 24-week treatment periods with either an exercise program or taking the study drug. Each period includes three outpatient visits lasting ~30 min, three exercise testing visits lasting ~1.5 hrs, three outpatient admissions lasting ~ 8-10 hrs.
All visits are during the week, and require blood draws. The study will take approx. 6 months to complete.
