Official Trial Title: Role of pre-operative exercise and nutrition therapy on insulin resistance and immune health in patients undergoing bariatric surgery

Researchers in the Department of Kinesiology are conducting a research study to gain a better understanding of the effect of exercise and diet on weight loss and reducing obesity related conditions.
You may be eligible for this study if you are between the ages of 18-70 years old, obese, and not currently involved in an exercise program.
The study involves measures of aerobic fitness, body fat, muscle mass, metabolism, blood pressure, and blood sugar profile. The study will involve about 15 study visits over 3 months. There are 3 study testing visits, which collect the measures listed above, and can last up to 5 hours of time. The 12 exercise training visits last about 1 hour of time.
Study-related tests, exercise training, and dietary supplements will be provided free of charge.
