Official Trial Title: Clinical Test of SoundTrak, A Data Acquisition and Analysis System for OSDB
Compensation: $150 for completion of both visits
The Department of Medicine seeks subjects ages 7 to 70 years old with suspected Obstructive Sleep Apnea who are scheduled for a sleep study in the UVa Sleep Laboratory, for a research study.
*Subjects age 7 to 17 years of age who do not have suspected sleep apnea are also needed.
The purpose of the study is to test a device worn at home at night to see if it can diagnose sleep apnea, as well as a sleep study in the sleep laboratory. The study involves wearing a band around your chest, a plastic strip over your finger and a watch size device around your wrist while you are in bed at night. We will also record sound. This will be done one night at your home and one night during your sleep study at the UVA Sleep Laboratory.
Compensation for the study is $35 for completing the first sleep study with the device (at home or in the UVA Sleep Laboratory) and $115 for completing the second sleep study (at home or in the UVA Sleep Laboratory).
This study will not pay for your sleep study your provider ordered in the UVA Sleep Laboratory.
