Glucagon Kinetics During Subcutaneous Infusion In Type 1 Diabetes
Study Description

The Division of Endocrinology is seeking men and women, ages 18-65, with type 1 diabetes to study how the body processes an important hormone called glucagon when it is given subcutaneously (under the skin).

The study will involve:
• A screening visit at the Clinical Research Unit at Fontaine which includes a urine sample, blood draw, and EKG to see if you qualify for the main part of the study
• Two 9-hour in-patient visits over a period of 4-8 weeks which will include blood draws and infusions.
• Study-related tests and procedures are provided free of charge

Clinics & COVID-19 Patients: No Visitors 

For adult clinic appointments or those in the hospital with COVID-19:

  • No one can come with you into clinic buildings
  • No visitors at the bedside of COVID-19 cases
  • The care team can allow standard exceptions 

In Hospital, ED, & Procedures: 1 Visitor

For adults in the hospital, emergency department, or having medical procedures:

  • Only 1 visitor allowed at a time
  • Two visitors can be designated
  • The care team can allow standard exceptions
