The UVA Department of Endocrinology seeks healthy adults 18-50 years of age for a research study. This study is divided into two parts, Protocol 1 and Protocol 2.

• The study will involve a 4-hour screening visit that includes a urine sample, an EKG, and a blood draw. Thereafter, eligible subjects will have 1 study visit lasting for about 6 hours
• All visits will be completed within a two to four week period.
• Participants will be compensated up to $250.00 for completion.
Protocol 2:
• The purpose of these studies is to determine the effects of insulin on glucagon regulation by the body at different glucose levels in healthy volunteers.
• The study involves a 4-hour screening visit that includes a urine sample, an EKG, and a blood draw. Participants meeting the eligibility criteria will have 3 study visits, each lasting for about 4 hours.
