A Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Phase III Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Elafibranor in Patients with Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) and fibrosis
Study Description

The GI Hepatology department is seeking adults ages 18-75 with NASH for a research study. The purpose of the study is to see if an experimental drug can slow down the progression of liver fibrosis.

Study involves taking an experimental medicine or placebo, blood draws, liver biopsies, and other non-invasive testing. Study visits are monthly for 18 months, then twice yearly up to 7 years. Each visit lasts 1-3 hours.

Study-related exams, tests and experimental medication are all provided free of charge. Reimbursement for mileage may be available for travel greater than 50 miles from UVA.
