Study Description

The Department Kinesiology, Exercise and Sports Injury Lab seeks men and women aged 40 to 75 years with knee osteoarthritis. The purpose of the study is to see if doing rehabilitation exercises with or without a videogame is helpful for your knee health. Study involves performing thigh muscle exercises in clinic and at home.

Your participation will require 2 visits to test your muscle strength and balance before and after a rehabilitation program. The first visit will take about one hour and the second will take about 2 hours. The rehabilitation program will consist of 3 exercise sessions per week for 12 weeks each lasting about 1 hour. Twenty (20) sessions will be at UVA, 16 sessions will take place at your home.

Equipment required to perform exercises will be provided free of cost.
