The Gastroenterology Department seeks adults ages 18-80 with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis (UC) for a research study. The purpose of the study is to see if a new drug, VTX002, is safe and better at treating UC than currently approved medications.
You may be eligible for this study if you have tried other medications for your UC and they have either not worked or they worked for a little while and stopped working.
Study involves: taking an experimental medicine/placebo daily, blood draws, stool collection, 1 x ray, colonscopy x 3, multiple EKGs, pulmonary testing, eye exams, daily diaries overnight stays. This study involves at least 15 visits over approximately 58 weeks and each visit last anywhere from 1-4 hours.
