As a family medicine physician, Adam Tate, MD, specializes in preventative care, chronic disease management, in-office procedural medicine (such as dermatologic procedures/biopsies, joint injections, and contraceptive management/placement). He also has expertise in diagnostic and procedural bedside ultrasonography.
Dr. Tate grew up in rural southwest Virginia. He attended UVA for his undergraduate degree. He served as a health educator at UNC Wilmington before getting his Master of Science in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. He worked as a public health policy manager and researcher, with a focus on addiction. He ultimately decided to pursue a career in family medicine and earned his medical degree from Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke.
