Dr. Bruce Bateman is a native of Georgia. He is married with two daughters. Dr. Bateman completed his college at the University of Georgia and graduated in 1970 from the Medical College of Georgia. He undertook residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Virginia. He then completed a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Virginia. Dr. Bateman served as the Director of the Division of Reproductive Medicine and Surgery for 10 years and was the Co-Director of the In Vitro Fertilization program. Dr. Bateman founded the In Vitro Fertilization Program in 1986. He was on the UVA Faculty for 24 years. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is sub-specialty certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is a member of the Society of Reproductive Surgeons.
