Dr. Abdelmalek graduated from the University of Alexandria- Egypt, Faculty of Medicine in 2006. He completed his internal medicine residency at The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and his hematology/oncology fellowship training at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Abdelmalek is ABIM board-certified in internal medicine.
He practices at UVA Cancer Center Augusta, part of the UVA Community Oncology Network within the Division of Hematology/Oncology at UVA.
Dr. Abdelmalek has a special passion for taking care of patients and families with different cancer diagnoses. He also manages different benign hematological conditions. As part of UVA Cancer Center, Dr. Abdelmalek ensures an integrated multidisciplinary approach for every single patient on a personalized basis.
He lives in Crozet with his wife and daughter. He loves historical sightseeing, visiting museums and trying various types of ethnic food. Dr. Abdelmalek also enjoys spending time with his family, enjoying the scenery of the mountains and open fields of the Shenandoah Valley and Central Virginia.
