Kristy Diffley, MSN, RN, FNP, APRN - C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with over 20 years of nursing experience. She has provided advanced nursing care to patients in a variety of settings, including primary care, cardiac care clinics, pediatrics, and the emergency room.
Kristy was born and raised in New York. She became interested in healthcare at the age of 17. After high school, she obtained her certified nursing assistant (CNA) certification and began working at SUNY Stony Brook Hospital's cardiac care unit while attending college for her nursing degree.
She is dedicated to promoting the health and wellness of others and providing care that is respectful of, and responsive to, individual patient preferences, needs, and values. This includes providing appropriate information, education, support, and continuity during transition of care.
Kristy pursued her nurse practitioner degree because she believed that an increase in knowledge was essential for her to help improve healthcare outcomes for individuals, populations, and systems across diverse settings. Her goal is to always provide excellent care to each person that she has the privilege to serve.
In addition to her cardiac and valvular care experience, Kristy has participated in research for ischemic stroke, prehospital neuroprotective treatment of stroke, and secondary prevention programs for cerebral atherosclerosis.
