Mary Chandler is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, specializing in hand surgery. She grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with her bachelor’s in nursing. She then moved to Charlottesville with her husband and obtained her master’s in nursing and a post-master’s family nurse practitioner certification from UVA.
Ms. Chandler has practiced solely in hand surgery since becoming a family nurse practitioner. Prior to beginning work at UVA in 2012, she was employed in private hand surgery practices.
Ms. Chandler serves on the UNC School of Nursing alumni board. She and her husband have two adult sons and a granddaughter. She enjoys following college sports, traveling and spending time with her large extended family.
