Prior to completing my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Virginia, I obtained a master’s in Deafness Rehabilitation counseling at New York University, as well as a master’s in School Psychology from UVA. In recent years, I have obtained additional training in group psychotherapy which has been very rewarding. I have worked in schools, group homes, inpatient hospitals, and outpatient settings. I am conversant in American Sign Language and often work with Deaf persons and their families in my practice. I have an interest in issues related to adoption, especially international adoption. I also have a special interest in working with gay and lesbian individuals and couples. Many years ago, I studied in Spain and have tried to keep up my basic conversational skills in Spanish. I am active in the Charlottesville Quaker Meeting, and I enjoy walking the Rivanna Trail and baking whole grain breads.
