UVA's Richard R. Dart ALS Clinic began in 1999 as the first multidisciplinary clinic in Virginia specifically for patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and their families.
Patients meet with caregivers that may include:
- Physical therapists
- Occupational therapists
- Social workers
- Speech pathologists
- Respiratory therapists
- Nurse coordinators and nutritionists
All of your healthcare team is familiar with the unique challenges facing ALS patients, caregivers and families.
We also work in collaboration with the movement disorders division of the Botulinum Toxin clinic and testing services are provided at the nearby EMG laboratory next to the neurological outpatient unit.
Find out how we care for ALS and neuromuscular diseases.
