Parking: Free with validation, using your green parking ticket when you register at your appointment. Use the Lee Street Parking Garage directly across the street from University Hospital and Emergency Department.

The Electrophysiology Clinic evaluates and treats electrical disorders of the heart including fast and slow heart rhythms, palpitations, syncope (passing out) and risk of sudden cardiac death.

Our services include:

  • Catheter ablation
  • Pacemakers
  • Implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICDs)
  • Cardioversions
  • Implantable heart monitors
  • Medical therapy
  • Management of pacemakers and defibrillators
  • Heart Failure device therapy including cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) and ICDs
  • Evaluation of inherited arrhythmia syndromes and genetic testing

We also offer the opportunity to benefit from ongoing clinical trials. You can also see a UVA heart rhythm specialist at our specialty care clinics in AugustaCulpeper and Orange.

Our care team includes:

  • Specially trained cardiologists (called electrophysiologists)

Making an Appointment

We see patients on a referral basis and will contact you after we receive a referral from your doctor. 

Need a Second Opinion?

If you have had a prior electrophysiology exam, we welcome the opportunity to give you an additional evaluation.

Your Medical Records

To help us gather and review your medical records ahead of time, please complete, sign and fax us the Authorization for Release of Medical Records form.

Your First Visit

Use MyChart or print and fill out the Initial Visit Screening Tool (PDF) and bring it to your first appointment.

Electronic Medical Records

You may access your medical record through MyChart, a secure online portal that lets you view lab results and communicate with your healthcare provider.
