What Is Changing at UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center?
On June 1, UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center moved to a new electronic health record system called Epic. Other UVA Health locations are already using Epic, including the Haymarket and Prince William medical centers and Culpeper outpatient clinics. Epic provides a more reliable and consistent experience for both patients and care teams across all of UVA Health.
Because we're moving to Epic, we're changing to a new patient portal called MyChart.
MyChart is replacing your MyHealthConnection patient portal. MyChart allows you to see your lab and test results and communicate with your provider.
What Is MyChart?
MyChart is a free electronic health records portal. It puts all of your health information in one convenient place to help you manage it, including:
- Requesting or seeing appointments
- Communicating with your healthcare provider
- Renewing prescriptions
- Seeing your test results
- Viewing your medical records
- Paying your bill
What Does This Mean for Me?
It means that your medical information from visits to UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center will now be shared seamlessly across all of your UVA Health providers — from UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center to your UVA Health primary or specialty care providers across our network of clinics and hospitals in Virginia.
If you already have a UVA Health MyChart account, this change shouldn't affect you much. Your healthcare teams, test results, and prescriptions will be added as you get care throughout the system.
But, if it's been a while since you last logged in, we recommend logging into your account to familiarize yourself with the features of MyChart.
Do I Need to Create a New MyChart Account?
No. If you already have a UVA Health MyChart account, you don't need to create a new account.
How Do I Create a UVA Health MyChart Account?
To register for a MyChart account, fill out the MyChart account request form. You’ll get an activation code and instructions for making your personal username and password.
You can find the activation code in your enrollment letter or after-visit summary; follow the new user prompts in the link.
How Much Longer Can I Access My MyHealthConnection Portal?
The last date you'll be able to access your MyHealthConnection is June 30, 2023. After this date, you can request your past medical records through your MyChart account. If you need help, call the medical records office at 571.778.4484.
Who Can I Contact If I Need UVA Health MyChart Support?
Call the UVA Health MyChart support desk at 434.310.0545.
What About Paying My Bill?
You can pay your medical bills using MyChart. However, you'll need to pay bills before and after June 1 differently.
Read the former Novant patient billing FAQs.
Which Medical Records Will Be Copied to My New UVA Health MyChart Account?
