My name is Dr. William Robinson. I'm a vascular surgeon here at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and UVA Health System. I got into medicine, I guess initially because of my exposure as a child. I grew up in a small town in Illinois and my parents were physicians, and they were sort of in old time practice, you might say in a small town. It turns out that I'm practice a type of medicine this far different than that in many ways, and I came to vascular surgery which is a sort of a highly technical relatively focused field mostly through exposure, to really great people through my training in both medical school and residency. We have a tremendous catchment area of patients. So, we're able to impact people all over the state and over a very broad region. We see very interesting cases because of that. And so, that is very rewarding to be able to help treat those difficult and interesting cases. Just be able to help contribute to the training of the next generation of physicians while we take care of patients. I think UVA gives us a great collaborative stimulating environment to do that.
