My name is David Rapp, and IÕm a urologist. And I have a subspecialty focus of female pelvic medicine, which is a field that specializes or focuses on urinary incontinence, urinary tract infections, pelvic prolapse, and other disorders of the female pelvis. Foremost, new patients can expect a very pressure-free environment where we simply talk about the problems that they have. Often times IÕll go through a whole algorithm of the treatment options from A to Z, just so people can understand that itÕs not all surgery, that we have all these options and the pathway that we can go down. And I feel that, once we do that, women can see in a very non-pressured environment, that there are a lot of things that we can do, and it doesnÕt mean surgery. My advice to any woman seeking either education or care for these problems is to come to a center where, not only they have these physicians and practitioners, such as physical therapists who are experts in their own field, but one where they collaborate together. IÕm proud and rewarded to be at an institution where we have that and can offer that to patients, and it also is enjoyable as physicians to collaborate with each other and each participate in the overall success. ItÕs not just one. ItÕs all of us working together to achieve these outcomes.
