My name is Dr. Evan Kaufman. I'm a clinical optometrist and the director of optometric services at the University of Virginia. My job at the University of Virginia is twofold. The first is we run a primary eye clinic and that means that we see anything from cataracts to glaucoma to refractive conditions to contact lens fittings to just general eye care. I call myself the PCP of the eye world. The second thing we do is a very extensive and high-functioning contact lens clinic for people that might not be able to wear glasses or have a decreased vision due to some kind of trauma when you go to the eye doctor whether it's an opthamologist or an optometrist and they give you glasses and you can see people leave very happy. I fell in love with taking care of people and helping people see better.
