IÕm Mo Nadnarni. IÕm a general internal medicine physician. So, I take care of the whole patient. Often times, folks have things like diabetes, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, emphysema. ItÕs easier, in some ways, to just concentrate on the heart, or just concentrate on the knee, but I like taking care of the whole patient, both the behavioral aspects of medicine, as well as the genetic and physiologic aspects of medicine. I had some experience with my dad being a research pharmacologist, and my older brother was actually a pediatric ICU doc, so I got exposed to medicine fairly early. I always loved science. I always loved people. So, it seemed like a natural fit. I think IÕm best known for helping found the Charlottesville free clinic, which provides free care to folks who donÕt have health insurance here in our community. So, I think new patients can expect, first, a warm welcome from me. I like to establish a relationship before even talking about any of the medical parts. What you like to do outside of medicine. And I also try to keep it very patient-centered in terms of what theyÕre trying to get out of their relationship with me as their physician. Well, IÕm proud to work at UVA because we have excellent primary care, but we also have access to the worldÕs best specialists in many different specialties. So, I feel like if I donÕt know the answer, the answer can be gotten fairly quickly.
