My name is Corrie Parker and I’m a family nurse practitioner. I take care of patients of all ages starting with newborns all the way through the end of life. I worked as an emergency room nurse for many years before I decided to go back to school to become a nurse practitioner. I decided to further my education to become a nurse practitioner so that I could have more time with patients and make a bigger impact in their lives. I really try to get to know my patients, get to know them as an individual, their life situation, what they’re stressors are, so that I can help them understand more about what is going on and what we need to do to fix things. I enjoy women’s healthcare, pediatric care, prenatal care. I help people with their acute care needs, chronic care, as well as preventative. I really like to see people before they get sick so that I can help them prevent illness. I learn things everyday from my patients. Just listening to people you can learn so much about them and about life in general and how people perceive things and how those perceptions impact their health.
