Hi, my name is Renzo Figari and I'm a neurologist specializing in movement disorders, particularly in Parkinson's disease, patients with tremors, dystonia, chorea, and I have a special interest also in functional neurological disorders. The main reason I choose neurology is because the work of the brain fascinated me; how each part of the brain can trail to different parts of your body and how they work together and are connected. I am passionate about the improvement of quality of life of patients with movement disorders, and especially Parkinson's disease, making sure that the changes we make in the office are going to be meaningful for the patients in their daily activities. Here at UVA at the movement disorder clinic, I think we have an excellent team of doctors, so it's not just myself, but the collaboration of doctors that try to get the best outcomes for the patient and really make an improvement in their quality of life.
