I am Lale Kostakoglu Shields. I'm the chief of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging at University of Virginia. Nuclear medicine is a very diversified field. So it extends to multiple disciplines. Mainly in advanced imaging, we deal with oncology patients. We do stage them, restage them, monitor their treatment response. I was always fascinated by science, in particularly biology. And also, I was interested in knowing the variations in patients' wellbeing. And I wanted to explore that more in depth. And I really respected physicians a lot, and I was confident medicine would be the right field for me. It is fascinating for me to be at the forefront of advanced imaging. It is expanding. It's the most exciting field right now. And I love being in the forefront of the treatment and offering these treatments to patients who are in dire need to have an access to these treatments.
