Hello, I'm Marcus Hook, and I'm a doctor of pediatric radiology here at the University of Virginia. I spend most of my time interpreting diagnostic imaging studies performed on children and young adults, as well as performing some minimally invasive image-guided procedures. So I have a family member that was born with congenital heart disease. Being with them through their journey every step of the way, you know, in medicine and having them cared for has been impactful on me, and what's really driven my interest in medicine. I really derive all of my satisfaction in patient care from the experience of kind of being the one driving the care. Physicians come to us with very important questions, complex patients. Nobody really quite understands what's happening until we get a major imaging study done that in a lot cases can only be offered here at the University of Virginia. And all of a sudden, all the pieces fall into place, and we have the answer. We can finally get our complex and sickest and most complicated patients the care that they need.
