I'm Dr. Mary Helen Witt, I'm a hematologist oncologist, and I'll be practicing at the UVA Cancer Center in Augusta. So I'm a clinician, I'll be seeing adult patients with both benign and malignant hematology problems and also oncology or cancer patients. I try to think of us as a team, myself as the coach, maybe, where I give advice and suggestions, and then we develop a tailored therapy plan that's individualized for each patient. I think patients should consider coming to UVA for their cancer care for several reasons, patients will have easier access to experts, but then also be able to receive their treatments and care closer to home. UVA has also recently just received the very prestigious NCI designation for comprehensive cancer center, which is the first in the state of Virginia.
