With Nationally Ranked NICU Care
At UVA, expectant mothers with normal pregnancies labor and recover in private and spacious birthing rooms, and moms can choose a support person to stay with them while they are here.
While pregnancy for most women follows a routine course, some women face complications. We're the region's referral center for high-risk pregnancies, including multiples and birth defects detected during pregnancy. Our maternal-fetal medicine specialists also treat mothers with serious medical conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure.
Because we’re the region’s most advanced neonatal intensive care unit and the only NICU in Charlottesville, we also take care of babies with critical needs after birth. That means both mother and baby can receive all medical services in one location, without being separated, at a NICU nationally ranked by U.S. News & World Report.
Ob/gyn doctors provide comprehensive, compassionate healthcare for women at all stages of life. Find out more about our Ob/gyn doctors and clinics.
A Leader in Breastfeeding Support
UVA is one of only 12 hospitals recognized by the Virginia Department of Health for its support to breastfeeding moms.
We offer the broadest range of women’s health services available in the region — and that means experience you can trust.
Our doctors, many of whom have been listed in America’s Best Doctors and America’s Top Doctors, are avid researchers, meaning you’ll have access to the latest treatments and technological advances available. And our gynecologists are ranked among the nation's best by.
