Hand Center
Hand Center Homepage: Patients with hand, wrist and elbow conditions will be treated in one convenient, state-of-the-art-clinic at UVA.
Hand Care and Services in One Convenient Location
Patients at UVA’s Hand Center get seamless care under one roof. You can get many needed tests and procedures in the same office where you see your doctor. All in one location. All without the hassle of going to other offices.

Coordinated Hand Care
Arm pain? Hurt wrist? Sports injuries? Our doctors include specialists in orthopedics and plastic surgery who are trained to treat injuries and diseases of the hand, wrist, forearm and elbow in patients of all ages.
You can get an X-ray, an MRI, a CT scan, nerve studies, simple procedures, splinting and casting, occupational therapy, patient education and scheduling for surgeries without leaving the building. (Surgeries are performed at the UVA Outpatient Surgery Center or at UVA Medical Center.)
Patients also can go to their Hand Clinic appointment and often go to therapy the same day if needed.
A Welcoming Place for Hand Patients
Our state-of-the-art clinic provides patients with a welcoming atmosphere and convenient parking.
The 6,000-square-foot clinic includes 12 exam rooms and is the only one of its kind in Virginia, offering the most comprehensive hand and upper-extremity care and expertise between Baltimore and the Raleigh-Durham area.
Free patient parking is located right outside the entrance and there's easy access to U.S. 29 and Interstate 64. Get location and contact information for the clinic.
A Track Record with Hand Injuries
Last year, the UVA Hand Center had more than 12,000 patient visits — including sports-related injuries from athletes at UVA and James Madison University — and our doctors performed more than 2,000 surgeries.
Patients also benefit from a specialty-trained staff, including two orthopedic physician assistants, two nurse coordinators trained in hand and upper-extremity care, three full-time nurses, three specialized cast technicians and three occupational therapists.
