Bio & Overview
Brynne Sullivan, MD, MSCR, is the Randall and Liza Moorman associate professor of Advanced Medical Analytics and a clinical neonatologist in the UVA Department of Pediatrics. She sees patients in the NICU but spends the majority of her time on clinical and computational research, focusing on developing and testing predictive analytics. She is the Director of the UVA Center for Advanced Medical Analytics, leading a multidisciplanary team of researchers using big data to improve health.
Her research projects span from early warning systems for infection in preterm infants using cardiorespiratory data, to using pulse oximetry data analytics for objective assessment of neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome in term infants. Dr. Sullivan's lab is supported by NIH Awards, Foundation grants, industry, and philanthropy.
Dr. Sullivan was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Sullivan completed her undergraduate degree at Washington and Lee University. She went to medical school at UVA and has lived in Charlottesville ever since, completing her pediatric residency and neonatology fellowship at UVA.
