Bio & Overview
Cassandra “Cassie” Freed-Pastor was born and raised in central Illinois. Her first undergraduate degree is in community health from the University of Illinois. She then obtained a second undergraduate degree followed by a graduate degree in nursing from Columbia University in NYC. She is board certified as an adult acute care nurse practitioner.
Upon completion of graduate school, Cassie pursued a nurse practitioner residency program at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. She then moved back to NYC to work as a nurse practitioner in neurosurgery at NYU, specializing in Gamma Knife Radiosurgery. Looking for a new adventure, she and her family moved to Virginia where she began working as a registered nurse with UVA Community Oncology in Culpeper. Her family fell in love with Virginia and permanently relocated to Charlottesville.
In her free time, Cassie enjoys going on hikes, working on her home and eating at local establishments.
