Bio & Overview
Charles Magee, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician and an academic hospitalist who provides general care to patients admitted to the hospital. In addition to his clinical duties, Magee is passionate about making quality improvements in the inpatient hospital setting and teaching physician leaders of tomorrow.
Born in Maryland, Magee grew up in an Army family. He completed his undergraduate training at Virginia Tech before deciding to join the military himself, attending medical school at the Uniformed Services University for the Health Sciences, and completing his residency and fellowship in the military. Magee served on active duty in the Army as an internist for nine years and deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq. He joined the faculty at UVA in 2019.
In his free time, Magee enjoys running and spending time outdoors, hiking, camping, and gardening. He is married with three children.
