- On the board of directors of the international Concussion in Sport Group
- As a member of the NBA Concussion Committee
- Providing consultation to the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee
She is a Fellow of the American Epilepsy Society and National Academy of Neuropsychology. Locally, she serves on concussion committees for area schools and promotes individualized care of athletes and other patients who sustain concussions. In addition, Broshek is Vice President of the Board of Directors for BridgeLine, a local community program serving individuals with brain injury.
Balancing science and compassion in clinical care is her personal goal. Dr. Broshek’s father was an officer in the Air Force. She was born in Casablanca, Morocco, and lived in the suburbs of Paris as a child. Her weekends were spent visiting castles and other amazing sights in the French countryside. She also lived in California, Germany, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
Dr. Broshek received her doctoral degree from George Mason University. She completed an internship in clinical psychology and a fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at UVA.
Dr. Broshek has lived in Charlottesville longer than anywhere else and considers it her home. She loves the beauty of the countryside, the amazing restaurants, wineries, UVA sports teams and the good-natured and good-humored people of Charlottesville. In her free time, Broshek enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, and dancing.
