Dr. McDaniel was amazing when he came in the room. He validated her concerns and that what my daughter has been feeling with her heart can be a little scary but then also let her know that her monitor showed that everything is perfectly fine. He also gave the option of giving her a medication to slow her heart rate down if it is bothering her too much and included her in that decision making process. Ultimately we decided to see what happens when she starts back on her stimulant medications with the hope that now that she knows her heart is ok, she wont be so focused on her heart rate and it wont be an issue. I love that he spoke to me as a parent but also was sure to Include her and spoke to her with dignity and respect instead of treating her as a child. He took the time to explain things on her level and made sure she understood and also made it abundantly clear that her health and quality of life is what matters more than anything. Ultimately we made the decision together that we were all comfortable with and felt was best for her.
Care was excellent
The provider is knowledgeable, but his communication style often felt indirect and confusing, especially when accompanied by a trainee. More direct, patient-centered explanations would make the experience clearer and more reassuring.
Excellent physician!
I would recommend yall to my friends in a heart beat
